Happy spring everyone! I thought I would start a new series of outfit of the week posts for you guys. I want to share more of my fashion finds and outfit ideas so here's my first one!
My friend Alyssa and I went to a cute little cafe to do some studying and take a much needed coffee break. (spring semester has us stressed and caffeine obsessed). Obviously, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pics in front of this adorable brick wall and cute green cactus! AZ weather has been so weird lately. It is starting to warm up, but once the sun sets, it does get a bit chilly. This means my wardrobe has become pretty versatile. I decided to wear a gray peplum tank and my favorite high rise black jeans. I paired this with my over-sized denim jacket for when I randomly got a little chilly. (I know I'm ridiculous, but I'm always cold!) I also wore my strappy, gladiator sandals to tie the whole look together. Also, I found this scrunchie in the midst of all my hair ties and I am really digging the 90's vibe it gives. I might be incorporating scrunchies into my wardrobe more often. Let me know if you like this post, and want to see more! Here's the links to my outfit details! Spring is here and in full swing! Whether you're going to vacation in Mexico or California, you're going to need a cute swimsuit to sport while sun bathing. Here are some of my favorite swimsuits this season that won't break the bank! H&M Top: $19.99 Bottom: $14.99 American Eagle One piece: $30.00 Charlotte Russe Top: $13.59 Bottom: $11.99 Forever 21 Top: $19.90 Bottom: $15.90 American Eagle One piece: $30.00 H&M Top: $17.99 Bottom: $12.99 American Eagle
Top: $25.00 Bottom: $24.95 Every person has their perfect pair of jeans. You know the pair that fits just right, slides on seamlessly and makes your butt look amazing? Yeah those ones. Jeans are glorious because of their versatility. You can literally wear anything with them, whether you want to dress them up or down. It took me awhile to find my "perfect" pair. Working at a clothing store that is known for their denim doesn't make it any easier to narrow it down. Despite having so many different pairs and constantly trying on new ones that we get in, I found the ones. They are a super hi-rise, jet black pair of jeggings. They are extremely slimming, flattering and have two slits at the knee, that give them an edge. They are also the most comfortable thing I have ever worn in my life and no, I am not being dramatic. Well enough of me ranting, here are my three go-to ways to style my favorite pair of jeans! p.s. Yes, I am wearing the same shoes in every picture. It was freezing outside when I took these pictures and I didn't want to take them off. They are from Kohl's and were only around $25! I had to add this one in because my best friend, Colby, was taking these pictures and told me to pose in front of my car. It totally looks like it could be a Jeep ad!
It's that time of year again, summer is coming to a close and school is creeping up quick! Although summer is so much fun, I have a big love for back to school shopping. (Anyone else or just me?) Picking out the cutest supplies, the trendiest planner and, of course, the perfect outfits! I put together four of my favorite outfits that I think will be perfect for back to school! Go ahead and check them out if you need some back to school inspiration!! P.S. All of these outfits are from American Eagle! I work there and the discount is just too great to pass up!! Outfit #1: I am currently obsessed with this outfit! I love the simplicity of the blush pink top and the edginess of the the light wash, ripped boyfriend jeans. I paired this outfit with gold strappy sandles from Target and a black bralette from Victoria's Secret! Outfit #2: This one is my go to when I want to be super comfy, but still look like I attempted to look cute! I paired this lovely and incredibly soft camo top with my favorite pair of distressed, black shorts. The choker attached to the shirt gives it a more fashionable edge than just a regular v-neck. Outfit #3: This outfit is perfect for my AZ girls who have to survive in the high temps! This gorgeous off the shoulder top is covered in a delicate floral print and is super lightweight and extra flowy. Pair it with your favorite pair of denim shorts (Mine are these Hi Rise Shorties from American Eagle) You will look cute and feel cool! Outfit #4: So as you can tell this outfit includes another off the shoulder top! (I might have a slight obsession with them) I love this outfit because it is very simple, yet very trendy! I paired this white and navy blue striped top with my favorite pair of army green jeggings! The colors in this shirt compliment the jeggings perfectly!
Fourth of July is a day filled with festive BBQ's, chilling by the pool, dazzling fireworks and coming together to celebrate the USA! Everyone shows up sporting their red, white and blue! I don't know about you guys, but every Fourth of July, I struggle to find an outfit that is both cute and patriotic. So if you feel that same struggle, here are three outfits you can rock this Fourth of July! Outfit 1 Channel your stars and stripes, while keeping it super casual! The hat keeps your outfit low maintenance and adds a pop of patriotic flare! (it also keeps your hair low maintenance too, am I right ladies?) The off the shoulder shirt brings the bold color and keeps you cool. While the striped shorts pull the look together seamlessly! Outfit 2 If you're looking for something a little more dressy, then this outfit is perfect for you! Let freedom ring in this chic off the shoulder striped dress! Plus the red, strappy sandals will give you a gorgeous color accent to make your outfit shine! Outfit 3 Embrace your inner firecracker in this super festive one piece from Target! You can pair it with these dazzling, distressed white shorts for when you're lounging around the pool drinking a lemonade!
High-waisted shorts are a staple piece especially here in the Arizona heat. We’ve all contemplated whether the $50 perfectly distressed shorts are really worth it. Instead of spending tons of money, why not DIY your own unique pair! Here are the few simple steps to make an incredibly customizable pair of shorts! Go Thrifting! Take an adventure down to your local thrift store and begin your search for the perfect pair of high waisted jeans. I found mine at my local goodwill for around $7! Measure Once you’re home try on your jeans and make a mark with a sharpie on both legs to your desired length. (Tip: always cut it longer because it’s easier to cut off another inch or so than to cut them too short!) Make the Cut Fold your jeans in half so that the marks you made earlier are visible. Cut on a flat surface. Make sure to cut at an angle with the outer edge being slightly higher than the inner corner. Make sure to keep the cut straight and along the mark. Time to Distress Here’s the fun part! Grab an old toothbrush, or a piece of sandpaper, tweezers and some scissors. Once you’ve decided where you want to distress, place a magazine under each leg to ensure you don’t cut through the other side. Cut little slits where you want holes in your shorts. I cut a slit on the back pocket and in the front towards the bottom. I used tweezers to pick at strings in the slit and try to fringe it. An alternative is to rub sandpaper on the slit to try and distress it and make the strings more visible so that you can pick at the strings. ttt Wash Them Now it’s time to wash your masterpiece. Luckily, the washer helps to distress your shorts further. When you’re distressing your shorts don’t worry about fringing the bottoms because the washer will fray the ends! Customize No DIY is complete without a little customizing! I left mine distressed, however you can add studs to the pockets, patches, or even lace on the bottom of the shorts. Admire your Creation Pull your shorts out of the dryer, slip them on and rock your new staple fashion piece! This DIY is super simple and so fun! Everyone will be asking you where you got your amazing shorts and you can proudly say you made them yourself! The best part about these high-waisted shorts is that they are super versatile! You can pair them with a bralette and simple tee, a crop top, or even throw on a flannel and wear tights under your shorts to make a transition into fall. I paired my shorts with a striped tee from Brandy Melville and a golden pair of sandals from Target.
